The Black Pearl Oyster (Pleurotus ostreatus) is a hybrid between European and Asian Pleurotus ostreatus from Japan. Overview

The Black Pearl Oyster (Pleurotus ostreatus), also sometimes known as the Black Pearl King Oyster, is a hybrid between the European and Asian Pleurotus ostreatus. They are easier to grow than their cousins, the King Oyster. Black Pearls tend to look quite similar to King Oysters when starting out, but as they mature the caps look more like dark Grey Oysters.

Black Pearl Oyster mushrooms have large tender stems and a unique flavour with a slight peppery aftertaste. Their robust taste means they do well even when cooked with other strong ingredients.
